Notes: These items are dropped by the same mobs that you farm for Sunfury Signets, so you will be co-farming these items with them.

Following on from the section on farming Sunfury Signets, the list above will appear to be somewhat recognizable. The mobs you farm for Arcane Tomes are exactly the same as the mobs you farm for gold.

The best course of action is to follow the above instructions for farming Sunfury Signets while also farming Arcane Tomes in the background.

Arcane Tomes are difficult to target-farm for WOW gold because they are a low drop rate item from nearly anything that can drop either the Firewing Signet or the Sunfury Signet, making them difficult to farm for WOW gold. The percentage chance that Arcane Tomes will drop increases in proportion to the level of the mob. When farming Sunfury Signets in outdoor areas, you can expect to have a 3% chance of obtaining WOW gold or an Arcane Tome (about 1% for Firewing Signet mobs), in addition to a 3% chance of obtaining WOW gold.

The Arcatraz, The Botanica, and The Mechanar are the three dungeons where you have the best chance of finding Arcane Tomes, and they are also where you have the best chance of finding Sunfury Signets. Within these three dungeons, Blood Elves, as well as some Mechanicals and Demons, drop these at a rate of approximately 4% each. However, 1% more isn't going to make much of a difference in your farming gold.

In Burning Crusade Classic Gold, farming Dampscale Basilisk Eyes is a viable option.

Terokkar Forest's green Dampscale Basilisks all drop Dampscale Basilisk Eyes, which are a type of fungus.

There are two major species of purple Ironspine Basilisks in Terokkar, but only one of them drops Dampscale Basilisk Eyes: Ironspine Petrified. Ironspine Petrified is the only one that drops Dampscale Basilisk Eyes. It is possible to encounter these basilisks near the Dampscales around Silmyr Lake, north of Cenarion Thicket, and along the rocky walls to the north of Stonebreaker Hold.

In contrast to Ironspine Chompers, which can be found up along the ledges north and west of Firewing Point, they do not drop Dampscale Basilisk Eyes (although it is listed on their loot table, but at a rate well below 0.1 percent). Ironspine Petrifiers and Ironspine Chompers are nearly identical in appearance, so make sure you know which one you're dealing with when you're farming.

Dampscales (green) and Ironspines (purple) are two types of scales. Only Ironspine Petrifiers should be targeted, not Chompers.

The Dampscales, or green Basilisks, get their name from the fact that they prefer to be near water. Their concentration is concentrated around Lake Silmyr in the north, near Shattrath City. They can also be found following the rivers in the east-central part of this zone, which is where they first appeared. For skinners, you can also skin them for two types of special leather -- Fel Scales and Crystal Infused Leather -- if you're skilled enough.

It takes a little bit of work for Draenei who have chosen The Scryers to get back on their feet. They start out Unfriendly and must work their way up to about 275 reputation.

Players who choose to abandon the Aldor faction in favor of the Scryers will find themselves in a much deeper hole; depending on how much you've done with the Aldor, your reputation may be salvageable (only partially into Hostile) or nearly irredeemable (0/36000 into Hated) after leaving. Due to the fact that your reputation with the opposing faction diminishes at a significantly greater rate than that of the other, it doesn't take long before you find yourself in a significant deficit.

Any player with a reputation lower than Neutral and a minimum character level of 62 can obtain the quest Voren'thal's Visions from Arcanist Adyria in Shattrath City, located at /way 54.8 22.6. The quest can be completed by any player with a reputation lower than Neutral. She will ask for 8x Dampscale Basilisk Eye, which means you will need a very selfless level 60 friend or a large sum of WoW Classic Gold to pay for a companion. Furthermore, you'll require a continuous, which will earn you 250 reputation with the Scryers. This leads to the repeatable quest More Basilisk Eyes, which is a continuation of the previous quest.

The number of Dampscale Basilisk Eyes you will require will be determined by how bad your reputation with The Scryers was when you first started. If you've gotten all the way down to the bottom of Hated, you'll need 168 turn-ins or 1,344 Dampscale Basilisk Eyes in order to get back to Neutral. If you have 2725/3000 WOW gold and are starting with a Draenei character, you will require 16x Dampscale Basilisk Eye to complete one initial quest plus one repeat.

So, to figure out how many Dampscale Basilisk Eyes or WOW classic TBC gold you'll need, use the following formula:
Calculate the difference in reputation points between your current reputation and Neutral.
To calculate the total number of turn-ins, multiply the total number of turn-ins by 250.
Determine how many you will need to turn in in order to meet the required number of turn-ins by multiplying that number by eight.
For example, if you are halfway through Hostile (1500/3000), you would need to make up the difference of 1500 points to get from Hostile to Unfriendly, and another 3000 points to get from Unfriendly to Neutral, a total of 4500 points.4500/250=18 turn-ins for a total of 144 Dampscale Basilisk Eyes (144 Dampscale Basilisk Eyes).
