The Autolite 1100 is a single-barrel type used for Ford vehicles between the early 1960s and late 1970s. With its simple design promises reliability, it has also found use in many engines, including the 170, 200, and 250 cubic inch inline-six configurations. It can have either a manual or an automatic choke, along with a vacuum control system for timing sparks. This configuration yields proper fuel delivery and therefore stable performance of the Autolite 1100. A dashpot is provided for smooth deceleration, whereas a special "spark control valve" controls the timing of the ignition according to engine load switching. Anyone who likes tuning will appreciate how easy the 1100 is to tune and adjust for some of the great old Fords like Falcon, Mustang, and Fairlane. The Autolite 1100 carburetor can be taken apart for rebuilding or replaced with ease, thanks to the wide availability of parts and diagrams. For a showroom-level restoration or a passionate daily driver, the Autolite 1100 will never let you down when it comes to classic car carburetion.
