Also, there Animal Crossing Bells are a whole lot of items which are only unsatisfactory because of how non-functional they are. You are lucky if you can even interact with a product, and frequently the result is far too underwhelming(a prime example is that the canon you make it from Gulivarrr, that has a pitiful little'poof' impact instead of a canonball).
The arcades may have minigames. Pools and tubs could allow you to lounge in them like chairs. I want to be able to really ride the teacups or even go into the phonebooth.
I really like that now you can openly decorate your island/village, it's a great development for the series I think is underappreciated by some men and women who only appear to gripe about the game, but it really has highlighted just how shallow the game's items are.
The good news for the developers is that they have a solid base, they just have to place a lot of work into creating it deeper.
Shoutout to them entirely destroying events. You know how in the past there'd be a event NPC and you'd do small quests to them and get items in return?
Well hey those things still exist, just now they're unlocked from randomly spawning balloons. Every event, it is just more fucking balloons. I haven't bothered to shoot down a single damn balloon after Easter since the system is fucked beyond all reason.
I understand somebody's gonna make the joke about the dreadful bunny in NH technically being an event NPC, and that's the kicker--you're totally tricked into believing he is and that the event will be like previous AC games, only for the game to kick you into the dick and tell you to search balloons for 2 weeks.
Yeah, the balloon events suckbut I really dislike what they did using all the Fishing Tourney and Bug-Off. On paper, catching a lot of fish and bugs to get the gold trophy makes sense, but I do not have hours to dedicate to receive 300 at the middle of the afternoon. Especially in a game that's made to be played only a bit each day. Not to Cheap Animal Crossing Items mention it is such a grind it takes away from the fun.
