The contour edges of one or several colors and patterns on the fabric expand outward, forming a rough edge with the same color as the pattern and a lighter color on all or part of the pattern edge. A third hue appears when patterns of two different colors meet or are adjacent to each other. These phenomena are called infiltration. The infiltration phenomenon is often caused by the following reasons.
1. Insufficient thickener or too much water in the pigment printing paste, the viscosity of the printing paste cannot meet the required requirements. Due to the faster flow rate of printing paste, the pattern color paste on the fabric flows more outside the pattern edge, resulting in an unclear pattern outline.
2. During the printing operation, the slow running speed of the scraper, the high pressure, the large amount of slurry, and the frequent number of round trips will cause the pattern to give too much slurry. Because the amount of paste loaded in the fabric is exceeded, the color paste will bleed out of the pattern.
3. When the pattern area is large and the fabric has a lot of pulp, after the printed fabric is stacked for a long time, the humidity will increase, and the pattern color paste will easily spread out.
4. When the printing paste is mixed unevenly or the printing paste is directly diluted with water, these will affect or destroy the stability of the printing paste in the emulsified state.
5. When printing on synthetic fiber fabric, synthetic fiber and natural fiber blended fabric or interwoven fabric because the synthetic fiber is hydrophobic, the printing paste can easily penetrate into the pattern.
6. Thin fabrics with relatively sparse tissues have low slurry absorption capacity and are particularly sensitive to the amount of slurry. If the amount of color slurry is larger, it is easy to seep.
