He clarified, "While we have servers for every match, those servers don’t control the game simulation completely, making it harder to prevent these attacks."

Bungie also reflected on the decision to not place Trials behind a paywall, which may have inadvertently made it easier for free-account-recycling cheaters.

The company is now considering this change to enhance integrity in Trials.

Aldridge concluded, "If we must make a choice, we will prioritize the sanctity of Trials, even if it means limiting the player base."
