A different edition will feature the Washington Wizards' Rui Hachiura. The edition will only be available in Japan.

Luka Docic, Candace Parker, and Kevin Durant will be the players featured on the cover of NBA 2K22. The game's creators announced today that Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks), Candace Parker (Chicago Sky and WNBA superstar) and Kevin Durant (Brookly Nets) will all appear on the next NBA 2K game. In honor of the NBA's 75th season, which is scheduled to begin in, NBA legends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Dirk Nowitzki will also grace the cover of the NBA 75th Anniversary Edition (along with Durant). Parker will be the first WNBA player to be featured on the cover of NBA 2K's GameStop Exclusive Edition.

Durant was featured on the cover of NBA 2K in the past featuring it on NBA 2K13 (along with Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose) and NBA 2K15. In the case of Nowitzki and Doncic They are the first Mavericks to be on the cover in the long history of the game.

Abdul-Jabbar, Durant, and Nowitzki all have taken to Twitter to reveal their spot on the cover. Abdul-Jabbar said it was "wowzer" to be there. Durant and Doncic each declared being chosen as cover athletes an honor. Nowitzki cracked a joke in tweets NBA2king 2K22 MT: "Not sure who these other guys are but it's a massive honor to be on cover of NBA2K22.
