The entrepreneur and DJ showed off her emerald cut diamond ring, during her “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” interview and said her first initial is engraved inside the giant sparkler.
“I’m so obsessed with it … it has like 15 diamonds going around and then inside it has a ‘P’ with a sapphire,” she explained. “So if you open it, it’s like a ‘P,’ which I don’t know if you can see but it’s pretty amazing.”
Hilton’s diamond engagement ring is aptly named “The Paris,” was “inspired by the La Palette [café] in Paris” and “has a beautiful love story,” she said.
Reum proposed on Feb. 13 on a private island, where the couple visited to celebrate Hilton’s 40th birthday. The couple have known each other for 15 years and dated for a year before getting engaged. Reum, 40, got jeweler Jean Dousset (the great-great-grandson of famed French jeweler Louis Cartier) to design the one-of-a-kind emerald cut engagement ring.Hilton told Seacrest she knew Reum would propose soon, because it was something they discussed, but she wasn’t sure exactly when he would pop the question. She said, “It was a surprise. I knew it was going to be happening soon because we had been talking about it forever. And it was on such a magical island. I was hoping it would happen. But yeah, it was a big surprise.”
She told Seacrest “I am just over the mood. I am now going to marry the man of my dreams. so I could not be happier.” The couple is already planning their wedding, she added.
In the premiere episode of her podcast “This is Paris,” Hilton said she was “shaking and crying” with happiness when the venture capitalist proposed, revealing that she “can’t wait” to start a family together as the pair undergoes IVF.
Hilton shared a video on her YouTube channel that gives fans a look at the design process behind the stunning custom ring via a hand-painted sketch showcasing its intricate details.
“I am excited about this next chapter and having such a supportive partner,” Hilton, who announced the news on Feb. 17, told Vogue of her exciting engagement. “Our relationship is one of equals. We make each other better people. He was absolutely worth the wait!”On Monday’s episode of Hilton’s podcast This Is Paris, her sister Nicky Hilton Rothschild revealed that Reum asked for her blessing hours before proposing.
“So, we were at lunch and you got up from the table to go and use the bathroom, and he got up and came and sat next to me and said ‘I have two quick questions. Number one: Will you give me your blessing to marry Paris?’ Nicky recalled the businessman asking her.
The second question was if Nicky and the rest of her family would join the couple on the beach that night for the proposal.
